Hello everyone,
I hope to share my observations in Dajabón, the Dominican Republic through this blog site.

To begin with, let me locate where Dajabón is... it is a Province situated in the northwest of the DR, next to Haiti. The capital of the Province is also Dajabón, a border town where about 18,000 people live. You will also hear about Clavellina, where I live. It's a village community of 130 families, 9km away from Dajabón.

｢ダアハアボン！？｣　ワシントンDCのオフィスで働いていたドミニカ人のおじさんに、なんでまたダハボンなんかに行くんだ、と聞かれたのを思い出す。DCやニューヨークで働くドミニカ人の多くは首都サント・ドミンゴ出身なので、ハイチとの国境にあるダハボンは遠い存在のようだった。

ドミニカ共和国の北西に位置するダハボン州、人口1.8万のダハボン市の様子を、このブログを通じて共有できたら嬉しく思う。また、クラベジーナという名が出てくるが、これはダハボンから9km離れた、私が住む130家族の村コミュニティーのことだ。
